Carpet Fibers We Carry

Some of the different carpet fibers/types available include:

Wool: One of the major benefits of wool carpet is that it has a natural resistance to stain and soil, making it a great option for active families. The structure of wool contains overlapping scales that are very similar to shingles on a roof. The scaling structure stops dirt from sticking to the carpet and push it off instead. Not only is wool more stain resistant than other fibers, but it also cleans much easier as well. Wool is also a hypo-allergenic fiber as well.

Nylon: Nylon is an excellent choice for people looking for a versatile carpet solution. It can be used to create a wide range of carpeting styles. It can be dyed in order to get your dream color, and to create some uniformity. Nylon is also very tough and resilient. It is not naturally stain resistant like wool, but most nylon carpets made today undergo a stain-resistant treatment to help protect your new floors from messes.

PET: PET fibers can fight fading from the sun or strong cleaning products. The shades achieved with PET can also come out much more vibrant and bright than even nylon. PET is used to make some plastic beverage containers, and is sometimes recycled to be used in PET fiber carpets. Because of this, PET is very strong and long-lasting.

Smartstrand: If you’re worried about spilling red liquids or other liquids notorious for being difficult to remove from carpet, then Smartstrand fibers might be the best option for you. This material has permanent stain protection built-in, which means it won’t disintegrate even after years of cleaning. Even tough stains such as red wine or bleach can be removed with just hot water and detergent. With this level of reslience, you might expect for Smartstrand carpet to be rough, but it is actually extremely soft.

If you have any questions about any of these types of carpet or others, we can schedule an appointment to show you different samples and options we have available for you.
